The interdisciplinary doctoral program teaches and promotes theoretical understanding and methodological skills for scientific work between and with different disciplines. The skills acquired are important both for research in the overlapping area between the natural and social sciences, as well as for practical work in a wide variety of fields, depending on the doctoral school. Special focuses are: Paradigms and theories as well as ways of thinking in different disciplines, researching and working at the interface between disciplines, practical relevance and transdisciplinarity in empirical approaches.
